Abrams Planetarium
The Abrams Planetarium opened in 1963, and has had an estimated one million visitors since then. As a branch of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at MSU, the Abrams Planetarium is dedicated to teaching astronomy to the public. The planetarium also collaborates with MSU and Lansing Area folks to create programming across disciplines.

The main office is open Monday-Friday 9am-4:30pm (closed for lunch 12-1). Pre-booked field trip and group shows are done during the weekdays. Public shows are on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday Afternoons. Sensory friendly shows are once a month on Sundays. Additional special programming happens throughout the year.

The Charlotte Performing Arts Center is 775 seat public school and professional auditorium located in Charlotte, Michigan. We present a wide range of events annually from Charlotte Public Schools performances to community theatrical performances to community band performances to professional artist performances. Cooley Gardens
Planted nearly 100 years ago, and rescued decades later from neglect, Cooley Gardens is a garden lover's delight. It has a pavilion, park benches, picnic tables and a beautiful wedding site.  The gardens, designed by Edward H. Laird, are named after Eugene Cooley, the son of Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas M. Cooley and namesake of Lansing's iconic Cooley Law School.  The City of Lansing Parks and Recreation Department maintain the beautiful array of annuals and perennials to include Cannas, Elephant Ears, Birds of Paradise, hibiscus, and banana trees.

Fenner Nature Center
Fenner Nature Center is an environmental education center encompassing 134 acres of publicly accessible green space. Lansing River Trail
The Lansing River Trail began as a 2.5 mile section in 1975, and has grown to more than 30 miles through neighboring communities such as East Lansing, and Delhi Township, with plans to connect to Meridian Township, Mason, and Delta Township.  Some favorite sections or destinations include Scott Woods Park, Potter Park Zoo, Downtown Lansing, Old Town, and the Turner-Dodge House.

Michigan History Center and Archives of Michigan
The Michigan History Museum tells the stories of Michigan's past, from the end of the Ice Age through the late 20th century, in special exhibits and 26 permanent galleries. Visitor favorites include a 3-story relief map, a mural of traditional Anishinaabe lifeways and culture, a U.P. copper mine, a one-room school and a 1950s auto show. Scott Sunken Gardens
Once located on the current site of the BWL substation this Italian style garden was meticulously reassembled next to Cooley Gardens in the summer of 2019.  It was originally created by Lansing businessman and philanthropist Richard H. Scott in the early 1900's.  The Garden Club of Greater Lansing has been instrumental in the restoration and maintaining of Scott Sunken Garden since the 1980's.

Shigematsu Japanese Garden
Lansing Community College created the Shigematsu Memorial Garden in 2006 to commemorate Mr. Megumi Shigematsu, generous sponsor of LCC programs in Japan and former President of Biwako Kisen Company. The Garden is frequently listed as one of the top attractions in downtown Lansing. LCC is proud of the important place this garden holds for many people, and we are currently in the process of making needed updates and improvements. The garden includes a rock garden, lanterns, a moon-viewing deck, and a Koi pond. It is absolutely beautiful all seasons. Check the website for details on improvement schedules.

State Capitol Building/Heritage Hall
Step back into the Victorian era with a visit to Michigan's award-winning Capitol Building. Designed by Elijah E. Myers, one of the foremost architects of public buildings during the
Gilded Age (1865-1914), construction of the Capitol Building took six years and contains over nine acres of hand-painted surfaces. Visitors can enter through the new Heritage Hall entrance on the north side of the Capitol Building on Ottawa Avenue. All tours will start in Heritage Hall. Tours of the public areas and the House and Senate galleries are available every half hour during the school year and on the hour during the summer months Mon.-Fri.(9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Timber Ridge Golf Club
Carved from a mature tree nursery that was planted in the late 1940s, the championship layout of Timber Ridge Golf Club boasts spectacular views and an inspiring design. Course architect Jerry Matthews of Matthews Natural Course Design worked with an abundant variety of trees, the hilly terrain, and the existing marshland. Matthews’ philosophy of design allowed nature and the contour of the land to suggest the placement of holes and flow of the course.
